Kevin Callinan and other ICTU Public Services Committee officers were leaving Lansdowne House as I finished writing this, and a WRC-proposed public service pay package is to be discussed at a hastily-convened PSC meeting at 10.00am. We'll be issuing full details after that.

 

There was plenty of coverage of the resumed talks throughout Monday, with the big titles updating their digital offerings throughout the day and into this morning. SNA Jesslyn Henry appeared in this RTÉ package.

 

The State broadcaster also carries a comprehensive piece on energy pricing, a subject considered strictly for the enthusiast before the February invasion of Ukraine. The Times also reports on looming and radical EU policy shifts aimed at getting electricity prices down and reducing reliance on Russian gas. It also has this on schools struggling with energy bills.

 

Elsewhere, local authorities are owed over €100 million in unpaid rent, Dara Calleary is set to return to Cabinet, and increased taxes on property and carbon are among measures recommended to Government by the Commission on Taxation and Welfare.
