Good morning colleagues,
RTE reported Fórsa's statement on Friday that Ryanair's Dublin-based pilots are not prepared to ballot on the airline's pay offer which they describe as a "company-imposed strings-attached" pay package. The Indo carried the story on Saturday . The airline is reported this morning as saying it expects "some localised disruptions and adverse PR so investors should be prepared for the same.”
Salaries restored by the Lansdowne Road Agreement in Enterprise Ireland attract attention, as the Indo reports almost 50 staff earn over €100,000 . Elsewhere, George O'Brien looked at why so many Irish writers have honed their skills in the Civil Service .
In other news, they say snow is on the way , the PAC has been told that the State is owed at least €7.5 million from salary overpayments made to public sector staff that have not been repaid, and the HSE and Department of Health are facing off . In the Irish Times Martin Wall writes that the State may have to bail out the health service .
Meanwhile, the Irish Times reports that Constance Markievicz was remembered on the 150th anniversary of her birth yesterday for her contributions to feminism, nationalism, the labour movement and women’s suffrage.
For your Zen this morning here's that drop goal.
Have a good week.
