All eyes are on Leinster House with the formal announcement of Budget 2023 due to be made in the Dáil this afternoon. The Taoiseach has said the measures will cut people's costs and protect jobs. ICTU's newly launched report, "Trade Union Guide to Gender Pay Gap Audits", is broadly covered this morning, with features by RTÉ, The Times and The Indo. Disappointingly the report has found that the gender pay gap across the EU has closed by just 1pc over the last eight years.

 

Some welcome news as paid leave will be introduced for victims of domestic violence under legislative plans unveiled by Government. 

 

Recommendations to make Dáil more parent and child friendly have not yet been implemented. Read more on that here. 

 

And finally, The Citizens’ assembly on biodiversity loss has heard that climate change is having a dire impact on native flora and fauna.
