In yesterday's Sunday Business Post, ICTU policy officer Ger Gibbons wrote about the Congress plan for post-Brexit worker protections.

It won't surprise you to learn that Brexit soaks up quite a bit of the front pages this morning, not least because Boris Johnson is due in Dublin to meet the Taoiseach. The Indo warns that a No-Deal Brexit will cause a rural recession (while cities prosper), the FT leads with the Taoiseach 'playing down' the prospects of any breakthrough at today's meeting, while the Irish Times reports that a Northern Ireland-only backstop will be on the agenda.

The Telegraph, meanwhile, claims Boris has a 'cunning plan' to evade the new bill to block 'no deal'...he's to write a strongly worded letter. To paraphrase Jimmy Rabbitte snr in The Commitments, I'd say the EU are s***ting themselves.

Elsewhere, it's widely reported that a number of flights between Dublin and Heathrow Airport in London have been cancelled today as a result of strike action by BALPA, and it's reported that the Northside Partnership is launching an ‘advantaged thinking’ strategy, to overcome the tendency to overlook the skills and talent of people from areas of disadvantage.

A great day of action in Croke Park yesterday saw Galway take the All-Ireland Camogie crown an a blistering game against Kilkenny. At intermediate level, Westmeath beat Galway to the title in a dynamic clash of the ash. The only odd note of the day was the music the GAA selected to mark Westmeath's victory in an otherwise spectacular day for the sport.

Your Zen this morning alerts you to the brilliant comedy drama This Way Up which is running on Channel 4 on Thursday nights at the moment. It's the brainchild of  actor/comedian Aisling Bea and produced by Sharon Horgan (pictured).

It's a show unlike any other and reason enough to take pride in excellent work by two very talented Irish women. The season finale airs on Thursday night but the whole lot is available to view online.
