Tech giants advised to give Irish workers generous redundancy payouts

An employment law expert has advised multinational companies cutting staff in Ireland to give redundancy packages well above the statutory minimum.

Barry Walsh, the head of employment services at legal firm Fieldfisher, said Irish employment law gives unfair dismissal cases a relatively high chance of success, meaning it is often better for a business to give generous payouts.
