Pipes down
by Bernard Harbor

It's time to dust down the bunting, folks, as Leo invites Orangeman to visit our green fields. Just as well for Trump, who got no céad míle fáilte from the thousands of US students who walked out of schools in protest against gun violence yesterday. Check out some uplifting pics in the New York Times.

There's lots more on An Taoiseach's visit to the States on front pages, in editorials, and elsewhere.

Back here, SIPTU wants extra hols for those who worked during the inclement weather, while Fórsa points out that, snow or no snow, community welfare officers don't have bottomless purses. Meanwhile, a separate storm is brewing up in Sunbeam House, according to our own Ryan McKinney who, with that, makes his first appearance in the Digest.

There's quite a bit on Panda's plans to charge for lifting yer green bins. Elsewhere, Ganley's in bother again. And Lord Ross. But not our friends the Finns.

It's fair to say that our Zen has been as gloomy as it's been good this week. I'm hardly going to lift the mood with this, but I couldn't let the passing of the mighty Liam O’Flynn go unmarked. So here it is.

See you at the Mansion House.

Bernard
