I worked on the 50th Anniversary of Israel at the Wembley Arena – I’m a Catholic atheist – it appears I’m not immune to bullets. My neighbour, Bernadette McAliskey – she was shot 18 times, she’s still walking around. Also, she was my goto gal.

My advice would be to switch off the device and stop taking the Zolpidem.
Shayna
Really, is that a thing?
Harry Molloy
have you ever flown on a private jet?
Shayna
Yikes -yes. She was a Jetstream.
Shayna
I wanted to be a pilot in the Irish Air Force, true story – they wrote me back, because I’m 6′ 2″ – I wouldn’t fit into their aeroplane. They also mentioned they already had a pilot.
Hi Shayna – what is a Catholic aetheist? Genuinely curious as my friends are proclaimed atheists, some are humanists, some are buddhists while their children are growing up with Catholic sacraments like Holy Communion.
Shayna
Someone who is raised a Catholic, then decides a different path.

You become a vegetarian?

It’s a thing in Belfast – are you a Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Muslim Atheist?
Shayna
I fear I may have gone beyond the pale.

Not aware of “Muslim Atheist” but here Shayna, tell me are there “Presbyterian Atheists” up yonder? I was talking with some Dubs at the weekend who believed abortion rights will never arrive in the six counties while the Unionists preach the bible, plus there is no governing body anyway. Dismissive as ever. Interestingly, the die hard Catholic crá-beaters I know in the Free State cannot quote a bible passage, aka the same holy book, to save their life. Neither could the Catholics in the North. Here we are an individualist society, up North still a collective society. Would you agree?
Shayna
Up North? I just live as Béal Féirste. 26 counties? Last time I counted there were 32.
Shayna
Not so much, it’s still what we did scenario. I made a joke last year when I checked into The Grand in Brighton, I may have mentioned, and it would appear I’ve an Irish accent. The hotel functioned, I was simply taken for questioning – 6-8 times, Channel Islands, Cyprus, oh and London and again questioned in Belfast every time I fly.
I do build the rigmarole into my fly-time.

I think we in the South need to get over ourselves in the condescension towards the North. It’s self congratulatory bullpoo that attempts to put ourselves “above” them up North.
The majority of Northerners support a change to the abortion laws.
True Janet, just like in the South… and sure we haven’t even got abortion laws enacted here yet, but with the condescension towards the North you’d swear we had for decades. It is quite pathetic.
SOQ
I am originally from the north Clamps and spent quite a lot of time there recently. They are without doubt much more homophobic and for the most part socially conservative. Not everyone but a sizeable amount.
I hear ya SOQ, but there are a number of attitudinal surveys that say those up North are not as anti on abortion as some are painting them here. That’s all I’m sayin’ like.
Regarding other attitudes, and in general, I am in agreement that the north is very conservative. Always struck me as weird the number of evangelicals up there.
SOQ
I would question the accuracy of those surveys. This is a place which has over 50 different religions and entire towns without even a pub.
Although, it is interesting how much ROI is influencing NI these days and that is as much liberal orange as green.
Shayna
I was a Catholic – did all the sacraments, apart from marriage and the holy orders – 5 outta 7 ain’t bad? I just made that up – a Catholic Atheist isn’t a thing. Although….I did receive last rites…

Serious question. I didn’t read your posts from the time. If you had known that the bed sheets had her blood on them, would that have influenced your decision..?
Cian
As far as I remember the jury were told about her blood on the sheets.
What was not shared was that there were other people’s blood on the sheets. And the pictures of the bed were photoshopped to remove any blood-stains that weren’t hers.
Joe cool
who are we talking about here
Cu Cullan
Are you sure..?
Cian
“Blood
Photographs of Mr Jackson’s bedroom formed part of the exhibits in the case, including pictures showing the woman’s blood on his bedsheets. However, there were also other bloodstains on the sheets which did not come from the woman.
The source of this blood was never explained in court. Mr Kelly, for Mr Jackson, said he had “no intention of saying where this blood came from”. He said pictures of the blood would distract the jury.
In order to find a solution, Judge Smyth made the unusual suggestion of “airbrushing” out the blood stains which did not relate to the woman.
As a result, the bloodstains were removed using Photoshop before the pictures were shown to the jury.”
Thanks.. I knew there was something bizarre in that decision

Ollie Cromwell
The Moggster is far more popular, even among non-Tory voters, than you might think.
People might not agree with his views on gay marriage and abortion but they respect his right to hold them and admire his refusal to change them for political expediency.
Unlike in Ireland people are not pilloried for holding opposing views on abortion which of course became law in GB half a century ago.
Plus,like Boris,he has received a recognition factor.
Even younger voters who generally don’t give a toss about politics know who he is.
He is Theresa May’s biggest nightmare and the fact that he is the bookies favourite for the next Tory leader without ever holding even a junior ministerial office is remarkable.
Sneer at him at your peril.
Nigel
Voting for someone because you think they’re being brave for holding views that are not admirable is pretty stupid

People are welcome to hold any view they want .. what is intolerable is forcing them on other people when they are cruel and unusual.
Ollie Cromwell
JRM doesn’t force his views on anyone and they’re not cruel and unusual.
When he is asked his views he provides them but has also made clear he has no intention of attempting to change the law as it stands ( you know, the one on abortion was brought in 50 years ago in the UK so any attempt at virtue-signalling on here is wasted. )
Certainly the good voters of Somerset North-East care little about his views as they returned him with a stonking 10,000 majority at the last election.
The Moggster is box office.
We’ll be hearing a lot more of him in Ireland in the next few years.
Suck it up snowflakes.
Nigel
Voting for someone whose views they don’t care about – not actually paying the voters a compliment there Crom.
Repealer Bertie
I don’t see any peril in sneering at him. He may be popular but he has repeatedly been shown to be ignorant of the issues around the border. This latest tantrum is just more evidence of his lack of understanding. The idea that the EU is frustrating Britain’s attempts to resolve the border is incredibly naïve. The British have been wasting time arguing over two options which had both already been rejected by the EU. Put simply there are four options to resolve the border issue:
1 – NI stays in the EU Customs and Regulatory union and the EU/UK border goes in the Irish Sea
2 – The entire UK pays to stay in the EU Customs and Regulatory union
3 – A united Ireland (which may well be the eventual outcome of option 1 anyway)
4 – Cancel Sasamach
So which one does Mogg have the political will to implement?
Ollie Cromwell
Don;t you think it’s a typically supine Irish position that just because the EU rejects something that means it’s all over.
There’s a negotiation going on,the EU is desperate for Britain’s £39billion contributions for the next two years and there’s everything to play for.
If you think the Irish border will get in the way of an eventual agreement you’re as dumb as the EU already know Ireland is.
Cu Cullan
Whilst you are right that Europe will care little for the Irish border, you seem to forget that France, Germany and Spain have been waiting for this moment for some time and are set on absolutely fupping the UK up good and proper.
Repealer Bertie
No, I don’t think it’s a “typically supine” position to believe that when the major player in the negotiations rejects something that means it’s over. They didn’t reject it for the craic. They rejected it as unworkable. Do you really think that the UK negotiators, who can’t even agree on what the want from the negotiations, could somehow convince the EU that collecting taxes on their behalf is suddenly a good idea?
Your line on the EU being desperate for the UK’s money is just a rehash of the clearly mistaken “they need us more than we need them” line from the campaign. The UK is lining themselves up to pay millions annually to get something they already have by being EU members. But hey, Blue passports, right?
The EU/UK Border has held up all talks on the agreement. All the evidence points to the border being the biggest stumbling block in the negotiations so what are you suggesting? This focus on the border is all some long game ploy by the EU?
Your entire post is insults, lies and fantasy with no actual detail. Keep clinging to the fantasy because there’s no happy ending for the UK in these negotiations. May will be folding faster than Superman on laundry day as the deadline approaches.
