Makes you feel a little sad and wistful that we have to envy the English for having ONE politician who is a human being instead of a mere pocket stuffer.

Such utter bull from IW. All that free advertising and they’re still pushing the unenforceable. Disband it. Referendum too.

If they had just said ‘levels are running low and we need the public to cooperate,’ people would have said fair enough because it is a limited resource after all.

Also, could they not have had a ban where it is actually low rather than all? It was the perfect opportunity to highlight the areas which really need upgrading.

I think the levels are low across the whole country. There has been very little rain anywhere over the last 3-5 weeks.

Then there should have been restrictions in some areas before this? The Dublin region for example is on a knife edge for most of a normal summer let along an Indian one.

Notice all the spotless cars on the road
Two weeks ago when we knew for certain this was going to happen these bans should of been in place
Only the other day the bus companies stopped washing their fleets
And have the hire companies stopped yet

        Yeah it’s hard to believe:
I always assumed she was a little waif of a thing that would rattle if you…well…you know.

It’s a crude strategy – underfund the system to such a degree that it falls into abject disrepair, making private investment the only option – but it will probably work

A referendum to put water in the constitution as belonging to the people not state
We need to reform taxes starting with a French type system
      VAT central PRSI etc central
Property tax changed to rates paid to the councils
      Water charges to the councils
Road tax or what ever to the councils
      TV licence to the councils
      A foncia charge system
Then each year your bill has printed exactly what you paid for
But water must be in the possession of the people
In years to come our water could be an export commodity earning vast profits to benifit our country
As we have it we have IW spending nothing on infrastructure and content on 70% water leaking into the ground as they sit there talking absolute bull
      They must be dismantled

      1. Cian

jeez – the water infrastructure in in bits – on Saturday it was 40% leakage – today it has rocked to 70%!!!

the sky truly is falling on our heads!

        1. bennny

Not really just short of water and I bet its been staged managed to ensure water charges are brought in and paddy complies gratefully
Then we find 25 years later one pipe is repaired
