The world’s biggest trial of a four-day working week has reported back overwhelmingly positive results. Over 60 firms in Britain took part in the six-month experiment allowing almost 3,000 employees to work one day less per week while retaining the same salary, and found the shorter working week to be more productive for most staff and companies than the traditional five days.

 

Meanwhile, a new study from the University of Limerick has found there is no significant difference in academic performance between children attending single sex or mixed schools in Ireland.

 

Dining out in Dublin is now more expensive than in Paris, London and Rome, a survey claims as the Government confirmed that hospitality would continue to benefit from a reduced rate of VAT until August.

 

A new Nursing Homes Ireland report has revealed staff in some Irish nursing homes are having to rely on large, private nutrition firms to provide specialist care to residents and there are concerns that the practice is “not ethically sound”

 

Many of us will have tucked into a pancake yesterday in celebration of Pancake Tuesday. But the pre-lent feast is not just for humans. In a video shared on social media, Dogs Trust showed that dogs enjoy a pancake as much as we do.

 

As long as they’re dog friendly, of course.
