What a prick

There's also plenty of coverage of ICTU's Oireachtas outing on the Government's "fatally flawed" remote work legislation this morning.

And the Times says the final phase of pay restoration for the highest paid public servants is in doubt.

Meanwhile, unexpectedly high tax returns boosted the exchequer last month, Eurozone inflation is up following a 32% hike in energy prices, and Aer Lingus ground staff have overwhelmingly rejected a Labour Court recommendation on cuts in pay and allowances.

The domestic political news is dominated by the resignation of Labour leader Alan Kelly. The smart money is on Ivana Bacik to replace him, which would leave the party with a female leader, chair and general secretary. Miriam Lord has this.

Finally, Zen marks the year-long UK miners' strike, which ended in failure this day in 1985.

Bernard.
