The Irish Times reports that the UK agrees to 'backstop' deal to keep North under EU rules after no-deal Brexit.

 

Whilst the Examiner leads with reports that the  Government's strategic communications unit is said to be operating at the heart of government. The Irish Times also reports that the Government is to pull back from spending all the money available to it in this year's budget, in a move that will lead to conflict with Fianna Fail.

 

A new protocol, setting up the Ryanair Transnational Pilot Group (RTPG), was adopted unanimously during an European Cockpit Association conference. In other news Ryanair has acquired a 75% stake in an Austrian airline. Channel 4 reveals gender pay gap to be 28.6%. 

 

Dublin is as good a place to live in as it was this time last year, a new survey from Mercer indicates, which also reveals that Dublin is the top ranking city across the UK and Ireland.

 

Today's zen has to be the the Grand Slam story of the Irish rugby team.
