The Irish Independent reports that IALPA president Captain Evan Cullen told an Oireachtas committee that it was "a matter of fact" that female pilots working as self-employed contractors with airlines registered in Ireland have had abortions to avoid losing out on future work. Evan also told the committee that half of the pilots operating in Irish-registered airlines are not employed directly by the airline they fly for.

 

The principal of a Dublin inner city school has said children impacted by homelessness are not able to develop properly because of their circumstances.
