"Invest in our lives"
by Hazel Gavigan

Kevin Callinan addressed the civil service conference last night, calling for a mid-term review of the PSSA and said working time should be included for consideration. There's coverage of his speech in the Irish Times, RTÉ, the Independent and the Examiner - all with similar headlines on abolishing extra working hours to avoid a pay claim.

Kevin also spoke on Newstalk breakfast this morning around 8:45am about reduced working time which can be listened back to here. (The link hadn't been uploaded at the time of sending this but should be available later today.)

Some more regional coverage of next week's CE supervisor strike was picked up by Galway Bay FM, the Tuam Herald, Highland radio and the Galway Advertiser.

As seen in our cover photo today, Uber and Lyft drivers across the UK and US went on strike yesterday in protest over poor pay and working conditions. The demonstrations came days before the company lists its shares on the New York Stock Exchange.

And finally, this morning's digest was written in the company of Mumford and Sons' latest album Delta - so here's a song from that as your Zen today.
