A double child benefit payment of €280 will be issued to families from today, as part of measures to assist households with the rising cost of living. The first of three €200 electricity credits will also start to appear on people's bills from today.
Government has announced that a new law designed to protect tips received by workers will come into effect on 1 December. The Payment of Wages Act gives employees a legal entitlement to receive tips and gratuities paid in electronic form and requires that this money should be paid to workers in a manner that is fair.
