Admin and clerical staff at Tusla commenced a work-to-rule action yesterday in a dispute over a job evaluation scheme, which would ensure employees are only carrying out work appropriate to their grade. Check out more from that here.

 

The TUC and ICTU has said the new law on providing minimum levels of service during industrial action could put the UK in breach of its labour obligations under the UK-EU Trade and co-operation agreement.

 

The Government has been urged to transfer more functions to local authorities following a review carried out by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe. It found that despite local government reforms over the last decade, Ireland remains one of the most centralised countries in Europe.

 

SIPTU has warned that local authority workers may ballot for strikes if the government does not kick off talks on a new public sector pay deal soon. Read more on that here.

 

Government proposals to time-limit the State’s provision of accommodation to those fleeing the Ukraine war are “problematic” and impractical, refugee support groups have said.
