The Internal Revenue Services (IRS) sued Facebook for $9B, accusing the social media giant of offshoring profits to Ireland by downplaying its IP value.

 

A new report showed the jump in Irish adults living with parents grew at one of the highest rates in the EU. The rate increased 11.2 percentage points to 47.2 per cent, compared to a 2 per cent increase across the EU over the same period.

 

UK’s new immigration plans will not be including a visa option for low skilled migrant workers, with the move expected to affect the care system, farmers, builders and hospitality businesses the worst. 


Nine people were killed and five others injured in shootings in the German city of Hanau. The man suspected of carrying out the shootings has been found dead at his home.

 

An Irish couple was diagnosed with the Covid-19 coronavirus on board the cruise ship in Japan, and are now receiving treatment in Tokyo. Six other Irish nationals are also on board the ship, awaiting permission to disembark.


In addition to winning album of the year at the Brit awards, South London based rapper Dave delivered an incredibly powerful performance of his hit song ‘Black’, towards the end of which he sent a message to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, called out the British media’s treatment of Meghan Markle, and paid tribute to Jack Merritt and Saskia Jones, victims of the terror attack at London Bridge in November 2019.
