Don't bottle it

It's widely reported that health officials have urged the public to remain cautious and adhere to government recommendations as Covid-19 restrictions are slightly eased today. Stay safe everyone.

Elsewhere, the Indo uses SIPTU's briefing to its members in Aer Lingus to write about the work practice changes being sought by the airline. It reports that the company won't seek redundancies until it can measure the results of the change agenda it has begun setting out to unions representing staff.

Meanwhile, SIPTU has called for the establishment of a dedicated safety inspectorate for the construction industry to assist the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) to ensure Covid-19 safety guidelines are being enforced. The Irish Times reports that with the first moves to ease a two-month lockdown taking effect today, there are fears construction could become the next flashpoint.

With concerns mounting over Covid outbreaks in meat plants, the Indo reports that the entire meat industry will be shut down should it be deemed necessary by public health experts, according to the Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed.

The Sunday Times yesterday included an item on the surveillance software used by employers to monitor the productivity of staff working at home, and includes comments from Congress's Dr Laura Bambrick (behind paywall). I'm not saying we saw this coming but the last issue of Fórsa magaizine included a prescirent item by Aingeala Flannery about working from home, and she raised the issue of the use of surveillance software.

Your Zen this morning may already have appeared in a WhatsApp message or in your social media feed but, quite honestly, these boys display precisely the type of mood and energy the world needs right now. I will never look at a Lucozade bottle quite the same way again.
