Restoration of HRA hours

Fórsa has achieved final confirmation that working time is to be restored to pre-austerity levels for most civil and public servants from 1st July. Civil service circular 14/2022 which was published yesterday, confirms the details of the union-negotiated restoration of pre-Haddington Road working hours, albeit with a floor of 35 hours a week. The presentation of cheques worth 500,000 Euros to The Irish Red Cross and ITUC will take place in Nerney’s Court this Friday, 3rd June. This has been raised as part of Fórsa's Ukraine appeal. It would be great to see as many staff members attend as possible. The event will also be live-streamed on our Facebook Page which you can follow HERE.

 

In other news the DAA chief has warned that those travelling this bank holiday weekend should expect waiting times of around 1 hour or more. He recommended those flying on short-haul flights to arrive 2.5 hours before departure while those travelling longer distances 3.5 hours.

 

Johnny Depp has won his defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard after the live stream of the court case sent social media into a frenzy. Johnny has been awarded 15 million Euros in damages.

 

Tánaiste Leo Varadkar, speaking to the Irish Independent, said he wants to prioritise middle-income families earning around €45,000 a year with Budget measures including tax cuts and reduced childcare costs for those in that bracket.
