As reported by the Irish Examiner house prices are set to eclipse Celtic Tiger levels over the next few months. The Industry figures have warned house prices will continue to grow at a double-digit rate, as high as 20% in some forecasts, following a report by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) showing prices rising at a speed not seen in almost seven years. 

 

Met Eireann has warned people to be aware of Storm Eunice as it arrives tomorrow. They expect power outages and several fallen trees and power lines across the country. There is currently no indication about school closures from the Department of Education however, the matter will be kept under review today. 

 

The Irish Times leads with pictures from 'Unity Day' in Ukraine. Towns and cities across the country of 41 million raised its flag, sang its anthem and held concerts and other events, while in the capital, Kyiv, Ukrainians unfurled a 200m-long banner in the national stadium.  

 

General Secretary of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions Patricia King has suggested that mask wearing in both reatil and transport should be mandatory for at lease another few months. The scrapping of the last population-wide public health regulations is expected to be discussed at what could be the last meeting of the National Public Health Emergency Team (Nphet) today.

On this day in 1967 The Beatles released "Penny Lane" & "Strawberry Fields" into the world. Instead of linking one if these songs today I'm going to recommend any Beatles fan out there to check out Disney's documentary titled "The Beatles: Get Back". Directed by Peter Jackson the film was made using 60 hours of footage and more than 150 hours of audio filmed and recorded in January 1969 for “Let It Be,” a 1970 documentary of the making of the album by the same name.
