Making waves
by Róisín McKane

Good morning folks,

Our image this morning was taken just off the coast of Sligo, in the midst of the weekend's storm.

The news that special needs education is set to partially reopen from February 11th is broadly covered across all news platforms this morning. Fórsa’s Education Division Executive Committee met yesterday afternoon and backed the proposals, which have been developed on the basis of intense engagement with unions, and in the context of a wider phased reopening of primary and post-primary school services.

Under the plans to be issued to schools today, in-person education for children in special schools is to resume on a phased basis from February 11, operating at 50% capacity on alternate days. The Examiner, The Indo and The Times cover this in detail.

Andy Pike spoke to Drivetime yesterday evening, you can listen back to that here. Bernard Harbor also spoke to Newstalk just after 6 last night.

Here's a look at this morning's front pages.
