Strange news indeed
by Bernard Harbor

Ingrid Miley is reporting that local authorities are struggling to keep water staff amid fears of compulsory transfers to Irish Water, while Barry O'Halloran has it that Ryanair is seeking tax code changes to ease its IR woes.

There's lots of Brexit news today, including this on why Mrs May's Chequers plan's in trouble again. Other foreign developments include racist Marine Le Pen being ordered to undertake a psychiatric examination. I'm working up a list of other political leaders who could be considered for similar help (strictly as a precaution, you understand).

Meanwhile the nation gears up for Culture Night, a nice distraction from Budget speculation, cuts in Garda overtime, and driverless public transport on the streets of Dublin.

Finally, some parochial news. Many of you know that I'm taking leave for a few weeks to work on Michael D's re-election campaign. At the risk of leaking some secrets, today's Zen gives an insight into the campaign strategy.

See you soon.

Bernard
