Private bus operator Go-Ahead Ireland is to attend talks at the Workplace Relations Commission in a bid to resolve a pay dispute.

Earlier this week, SIPTU members employed by the company voted overwhelmingly in favour of taking industrial action.

The union had accused the company of refusing to attend the WRC to discuss cost-of-living pay increases for its members.

"We now expect to attend WRC talks in January," said SIPTU Organiser Fran McDonnell.

"We hope we can then work constructively with the company to achieve a resolution to this dispute which will benefit our members and the long-term future of the enterprise," he added.
