The general secretary of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions, Owen Reidy, has called the proposed new anti-strike legislation during a wave of industrial action in the UK “draconian and counterproductive”. MPs backed the anti-strikes bill yesterday that requires key industries to legally ensure minimum levels of service during walk outs in England, Scotland and Wales.

A family has been reunited with their pet dog, two years after the beloved animal was stolen. The DSPCA animal charity has shared an emotional video of the moment that ‘Baya’ was returned to her owners over the weekend.

Baya was found in the middle of busy road in Dublin and when a volunteer scanned her microchip, it revealed that she had been flagged as “lost/stolen” two years ago in Galway.
