The deal for moving the National Maternity Hospital to the St Vincent’s Hospital campus is set to be approved by Cabinet today.

 

There was a 79% increase in the number of complaints to the Ombudsman for Children's Office in 2021.

 

The Times reports on a new CSO report, showing that rising cost-of-living issues failed to dampen Irish property prices, which hit a seven-year high in March.

 

The Examiner reports that college registrars are growing “increasingly concerned at the lack of certainty” around the Leaving Cert and CAO processes this year, warning that delayed results could impact the next academic year. Also in education, almost 200 schools have lodged appeals with the Department following the roll-out of its new model for identifying educational disadvantage.

 

Industrial action by medical laboratory staff is due to take place tomorrow

 

And finally, Irish Rail have confirmed that food and drinks will not be available for purchase on trains in Ireland until 2023 at the earliest due to staffing challenges brought about by Covid-19.
