The submission by ICTU's Public Services Committee to the independent body established to implement a Government commitment to resolve the issue of the extra hours is broadly featured this morning, with The Irish Times, The Indo and RTE covering the report.

RTÉ covers the launch of the new four-day week pilot programme, which sets out to test the effectiveness of the shorter working week for employers. General secretary Kevin Callinan spoke to Morning Ireland about the launch. Listen back to that here.

Aer Lingus will today tell the Oireachtas transport committee that the airline will not reverse its decision to close its Shannon Airport base, leaving the future of up to 126 jobs in question. The airline will also discuss the temporary layoffs at Cork. The airline will also call for the use of antigen tests.

Elsewhere, Minister of State for eGovernment Ossian Smyth has said that Ireland will be ready for the EU digital green certificate system for travel by July 18th.

The Times reports that the pandemic has had ‘unprecedented’ impact on victims of domestic abuse, with Women’s Aid highlighting a 43% increase in contacts with its services.

And finally, a German trade union has called on workers at seven Amazon warehouses to commence a three day strike this week to coincide with the global Prime Day promotion.
