Trade unions have warned of a potential “long and damaging period of industrial conflict “ at Dublin Bus in the weeks ahead as a dispute over pay intensifies. It's a similar story in ASTI and the Irish Independent carry an opinion piece by ASTI President Ed Byrne,  on why industrial action is likely this Autumn.  Meanwhile, the GRA is to ballot its 10,000 members as to whether they are willing to take part in industrial action over their pay and conditions.

An article in yesterday's Irish Times describes Public sector pay as a test of ministerial mettle.  A reader's response today, on pay restraint  and low paid workers, is worth reading.  The Guardian warn that  TTIP may be dead, but something even worse is coming.

Workplace violence is in danger of becoming a cultural norm, warns a new report on Social Care Workers, while safety concerns, over a planned expansion at Dublin Airport, have been raised by the IALPA.

According to Paul Melia of the Indo "It's impossible to say if Councils are providing better local services. The fact the sector has been starved of funds since the onset of the recession doesn't help".

Irish Water begin a process to take in charge of the administration of 3,200 business customer accounts in Cork City. The change will see responsibility for account administration for existing business customers in Cork City move to Irish Water from Cork City Council.
