Homeless service dispute resolved
by Bernard Harbor
A short dispute in Dublin City Council’s homeless service was resolved last week. The dispute centred on new arrangements to help homeless people who are discharged from hospital, which were put in place without consultation after the social protection department withdrew its support. A temporary arrangement to deal with homeless people discharged from hospital is now in place while a permanent protocol between the HSE and the Dublin regional homeless service is being developed. This is expected to be in place by October. The staff concerned will continue to receive updates from the union as developments unfold.
