Members working in the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) have voted to accept the terms of a recent agreement which includes 6% pay increases over two years.

Fórsa and the IAA reached agreement on a new collective labour agreement (CLA), with the assistance of the IAA’s own internal dispute resolution board (the IDRB), in April.

The enhanced agreement includes 6% pay increases over two years, the removal of incremental points on scales, an additional 1% for administrative grades at the top of their scales, pay progression enhancements for safety members, and a €500 lump sum for a cohort of members.

Fórsa branches recommended acceptance, and the deal was approved by members in a ballot, which saw 98.7% of members voting in favour of acceptance.

All Fórsa grades will benefit from pay increases in 2025 and 2026. These will be weighted towards lower paid workers, as workers will receive either percentage increases or flat rate amounts (whichever is greater).

Specific items were also agreed for administrative grades and aero grades. There will be increased leave across all administrative grades and all staff who have been working in the IAA for 10 years or more,  who are not at the top of their scales, will get a once off payment of €500.

For aero grades, a number of scales will be amalgamated and amended.

Fórsa official David Field said: “This deal benefits all Fórsa members in the IAA. Instead of taking a  one-size-fits-all approach we have addressed specific issues for groups of members with tailored improvements. It’s great that members have approved this approach in the ballot. We would also like to acknowledge the role our local representatives played during both the negotiations and the ballot”.
