Fully funded courses available for HSCP workers
by Brendan Kinsella

Fórsa has encouraged health and social care professionals to take advantage of the National HSCP Office Programme of Funding Opportunities for 2025.

National Secretary for HSCP, Linda Kelly said: “This is a great opportunity for workers to improve their skills. The programme offers fully funded courses specifically selected to be of benefit to HSCPs professional development.”

Applications are currently open and will remain open until 5pm on Friday 30th May. Courses will begin from September 2025 onwards.

Funding will cover 100% of course fees, though some may require an application fee of between €30 - €60. However, funding is limited to a set list of courses and will not be extended to any course not on the list.

Courses have been broken down into five categories: clinical, education/research, health & well-being, digital health/IT skills, and leadership/management. A full list can be found here.

Applicants may only apply for one course at a time. Applications are open to HSE/HSE funded HSCP workers who are one of the 26 professions under the remit of the HSCP Office. HSCP assistants, workers on career break, and agency staff are not covered by the scheme. Similarly, some courses are only open to HSCP workers of a certain grade or area of responsibility.

Applications can be submitted online through the Smart Survey linked here

Applicants should be aware that they will be asked to provide a personal statement outlining why they should receive funding, and how their selected course will benefit their ability to carry out their current role as part of the application form. It is best to prepare this before beginning the application process.

It will not be possible to submit late applications as the portal will close at the deadline of 5pm on Friday 30th May.
