PSI considers remote work
by Róisín McKane

Fórsa national secretary Peter Nolan has told global representatives of local government workers that the union will be seeking a balanced set of conditions for workers who wish to continue to work remotely, either full time or as part of a hybrid arrangement.

Peter, who serves as the vice president of the local and regional government standing committee of the European Confederation of Public Service Unions (EPSU), made the address at a global meeting of Public Service International (PSI) representatives of local government workers earlier this week.

The assembly gathered to assess the implications and effects of Covid-19 on the sector, with union representatives from Africa, the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe were in attendance.

The meeting identified the priority issues for local government workers, and considered the categories of workers who were most exposed, and their concerns.

It’s never been more important – or easier – to get the protections and benefits of union membership. Join Fórsa HERE or contact us HERE.
