Special Needs Assistant (SNA) Appreciation Day in 2025 will be held on Thursday 25th September. We’re resharing this recap video to set the tone and give an insight as we build towards another phenomenal day celebrating the contributions of Special Needs Assistants in schools.
The video highlights the day’s activities at schools in Carlow and Cabra, where SNAs were praised as essential, skilled professionals. Their dedication to supporting students, especially in special schools, was met with overwhelming gratitude from staff and parents alike.
Across the country, we saw an unprecedented show of support, over 3,750 schools across Ireland celebrated the inaugural SNA Appreciation Day, with the community invited to share their gratitude using the hashtag #ThankOurSNAs.
This inaugural SNA Appreciation Day, organised by Fórsa’s SNA branches, was a huge success, igniting a national conversation on the vital role of Special Needs Assistants. What started as a simple idea blossomed into a viral celebration, with schools across Ireland sharing heartfelt appreciation for their SNAs.
