Fórsa’s Cabin Crew and IAESA branches joined representatives from SIPTU, Connect and Unite, under the auspices of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU), to resume talks last Monday (21st July) with Aer Lingus, as part of pay negotiations for the wider staff group at the airline.
These talks include negotiations on a possible extension of the current three-year pay deal, due to expire at the end of 2025. An extension of the current agreement would see the pay deal extend into next year, with talks on a successor agreement to commence in the latter half of 2026.
The group of unions had successfully concluded talks with the airline late last year, seeking to align pay with elements of the 2024 pilots’ (IALPA) pay deal. A once-off payment of 1.5% or €750 (whichever was greater) was paid this year, as a tax-free voucher, while a 1.5% pay increase was also consolidated into cabin crew pay in 2025.
Fórsa official Lisa Connell explained that talks this week focused on a claim for 2026, while local grade-based talks took place yesterday (Thursday).
Lisa added: "Once a final proposal is reached, the respective Fórsa branches will be engaging with members and asking them to vote, and have their say, on the 2026 pay deal."
The branches will continue to update members on progress directly.
