Fórsa is to meet HSE management, under the auspices of an independent facilitator, next week to discuss the resumption of a review of health and social care professional (HSCP) career pathways, which was paused because of the coronavirus crisis.

The process is the first review of HSCP career pathways for over a decade.

It was won by the union as part of an agreement linked to the introduction of nine community health organisation (CHO) ‘learning sites’ established as part of a reorganisation of community health services linked to the Sláintecare programme.

The review is to include the automatic progression from basic to senior grade, the introduction of clinical specialist posts, and the introduction of advanced practitioner posts.

The process is being chaired by an independent facilitator.
