Fórsa has expressed condolences following the sad news that a Wexford council worker tragically lost his life while ensuring the safety of others during Storm Eunice last month.

A member of the council’s roads team, Billy Kinsella was struck by a falling tree and pronounced dead on the scene.

Fórsa official Lisa Connell contacted members in the council to express the union’s deep condolences and solidarity. “Words cannot express our sorrow at Billy’s passing, or our admiration for his work, commitment and sacrifice. May he rest in peace,” she said.

Wexford county secretary David Minogue said the accident occurred as Mr Kinsella attended the scene of a fallen tree in north Wexford. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the employee’s family, work colleagues and friends at this very difficult time,” he said.
