Work-to-rule action by staff at St Christopher’s disability services in Longford continues this week. The action, which commenced on 18th November, followed the breach of a 2021 collective agreement on the payment of increments.
The Fórsa branch committee is due to meet next week to consider next steps, including the possibility of an escalation of the current industrial action.
Meanwhile, there was some background discussion with management last week, and on Monday (25th). The union is waiting on a hearing date for the WRC on foot of those discussions.
Fórsa official Tony Martin said staff at St Christopher’s remained determined to take action until matters are fully resolved: “We're still in the very early stages of the action at St Christopher's, and we continue to engage with management in a constructive way.
“Members are prepared to escalate the action if it becomes necessary. Their resolve is strong, and I think management is beginning to understand this,” he said.
