Fórsa members in the RSA back new seniority agreement
by Brendan Kinsella

Driver testers, supervisors, and regional managers in the Road Safety Authority (RSA) have voted overwhelmingly in favour of a new seniority agreement negotiated by Fórsa.

The ballot, which concluded last week, saw 88% of members vote in support of the deal. Turnout for the ballot was 85%.

The agreement will introduce clear and transparent rules on seniority, covering areas such as acting-up arrangements, upskilling, and headquartering, while safeguarding the rights of existing staff should plans to split up the RSA proceed.

Philip Lambert, Chairperson of Fórsa’s RSA Professional Branch, said: “This is a strong mandate from our members for fairness, transparency and consistency in the workplace.”

“The new agreement ends years of uncertainty around how seniority is applied and puts clear rules in place that management must now follow. It’s a significant achievement for the branch and a testament to what we can secure when we act collectively.”

He concluded by underlining the high levels of voting in the ballot, saying: “We are also delighted with the huge levels of participation in this ballot by Fórsa members in the RSA.”

The agreement took effect from 1st September 2025.
