For the second term running, Fórsa’s Education Division executive committee is made up exclusively of women, with representatives elected from branches representing higher education, NETB, the school completion programme, school secretaries and special needs assistants.

Noreen O’Mahony of the union’s Munster SNA branch was re-elected as the division’s caothairleach, while Eilise McGarrell of the Connaught/Ulster SNA branch secured the leas caothairleach position.

Because of the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions on assembly and travel, the elections were conducted online, and in advance of the union’s virtual education division conference, for the first time.

Those elected will hold the positions for the next two years.
