Fórsa has secured measures to facilitate the carry-over of year three leave for a further six months, for staff working in the Department of Social Protection.

The agreement was reached following discussions between the union and the Department of Public Expendature and Reform (DPER).

Fórsa official Paul MacSweeney welcomed the move. He explained that DSP management agreed to the local arrangement in light of the extreme pressures workers faced during the pandemic.

“Consideration was given to work pressure our members have been under since the onset of Covid 19. Our members have worked tirelessly serving the public throughout the pandemic. We welcome this DSP local arrangement that DPER has facilitated,” he said.
