The Labour Court has backed Fórsa’s claim for on-call allowances to be put in place for inspectors in the Commission for Railway Regulation. Management had been refusing on-call payments, which had been denied to newly-hired staff after being suspended in public service-wide cuts during the crisis.

Fórsa took the matter to the Labour Court, which agreed with the union’s case taken on behalf of five inspectors.

The Court noted that the employer accepted the original rationale for paying the allowance, which will now be restored with effect from 1st April 2018.
