The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on aviation and other industries is set to dominate Fórsa’s biennial Services and Enterprises conference, which takes place next Thursday (13th May).

Representatives of all Fórsa branches with members in private companies, commercial and non-commercial state bodies, and local employment and enterprise bodies will attend the conference, where union policy is set for the next two years.

The conference will also debate motions on a range of issues including the remote working, pensions, union recognition, bogus self-employment, the so-called ‘Haddington road hours’, flexitime, domestic abuse, and the recent Uber judgement.

The conference will also hear from Fórsa general secretary Kevin Callinan, union president Michael Smyth, and the action head of the union’s Services and Enterprises Division, Ashley Connolly.

The proceedings will be live-streamed through Fórsa’s YouTube account and full reports of the conference will be carried in the next issue of this bulletin.

It’s never been more important – or easier – to get the protections and benefits of union membership. Join Fórsa HERE or contact us HERE.
