The Aviation Stakeholders Forum met on Thursday 16th October.
The forum aims to foster the maintenance and improvement of aviation safety and to support the development of a positive aviation safety culture within the aviation community.
First established in September 2023, it was set up under the Air Navigation and Transport Act 2022. The forum is convened by the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA). It provides an opportunity for all stakeholders involved in civil aviation in Ireland to come together to discuss areas of mutual concern.
The agenda covered regulatory developments at European and national level, regarding reviews of specific EASA regulations that the IAA will be engaging with stakeholders on, such as air worthiness, ATCO licenses and enforcement of regulations on drones.
National secretary Katie Morgan said: “Regulatory changes in aviation have serious and significant impacts for our members and the public at large. It’s vital that as the largest union representing aviation workers, we are present at this engagement and are fully involved in consultation.”
Join a union that wins. Join Fórsa.
