The Department of Justice and Equality has confirmed the extension of remote access for executive officers and clerical officers under new social distancing measures introduced to combat the coronavirus.

The move will see employees across many areas of the department IT-enabled to work from home over the coming days.

The head of Fórsa’s civil service division, Derek Mullen, welcomed the development. “This is a significant step in the right direction as we try to maximise remote working across the board,” he said.
