Fórsa’s National Professional Committee of Dietitians will hold its AGM on Wednesday 28th November at the union’s office in Nerney’s Court, Dublin.
The committee represents dietitians’ views to the union, and provides views on conditions of service, rates of pay, promotional opportunities and relations with other professions in the health service.
Fórsa organiser Katie Morgan said all dietitians who are members of Fórsa are welcome to attend. “The committee has had a very full programme in 2018, and there’s a packed agenda. With significant structural and organisational change happening in our health services, this is a vital opportunity for dietitians to have a closer look at the issues as it pertains to their profession,” she said.
The committee looks at policy affecting dietitians, such as professional title, registration, service provision, legislation, national agencies policies, codes of practice, professional structures and research affiliated to the profession.
Fórsa consults with the professional disciplines in relation to CORU, Fitness to Practice (FTP) insurance and other matters affecting dietitians in the workplace.
The committee’s recent work includes input into Fórsa’s HSCP conference in February 2018, working with the union to address concerns relating to Community Healthcare Organisations (CHOs), hospital groups structures, reconfiguration of Disabilities services and Assessment of Need (AON) protocol and workforce planning.
