In late 2023 nearly 2200 workers in Fórsa represented grades in Local Authorities took part in our survey on attitudes to local government. This staff survey is the most comprehensive ever undertaken in the sector, reflecting the lived experience of workers across our local authorities.

As trade unionists, we want better local services and stronger local democracy in Ireland.  More Power to You is a coalition of Fórsa, SIPTU, and Connect, that advocates for improved local government, greater local services provision, and strengthened local democracy.

Ireland’s first ever Trade Union Week took place last week. Over 60 Fórsa branches got involved in organising events in schools, hospitals, and offices, leading to a direct increase in new members.
