A significant development was reached at the Local Authority National Council (LANC), which will see a sector-wide policy negotiated with trade unions, aiming to ensure consistency and fairness in procedures throughout local government.

Fórsa has formally called on the LGMA and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage to take prompt action in advancing the local bargaining claims for members working in local authorities.  

The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage recently established a working group to review the qualifications needed to work in planning in the local government sector. Fórsa is inviting members to contribute to the review through its formal submission.
