Description

IMPACT is hosting a one day conference which will explore the future of the health and social care professions (HSCPs) in a changing health service. This one day event will make reference to emerging structures, demographic changes, the relationships between health promotion, hospital care and community-based primary care and social services. Health minister Simon Harris is to formally open the conference and we are delighted that Suzanne Rastrick, Chief Allied Health Professions Officer, NHS has also agreed to speak at this event.

Against the backdrop of ongoing health service re-organisation with hospital groups and community healthcare organisations, the roll-out of statutory registration through CORU and the review of voluntary bodies in publicly-funded health services, the event will provide an opportunity to consider the implications of these for health and social care professionals and the people they serve.

Workshops will delve deeper into specific issues including resource requirements, recruitment and retention, quality standards, caseload management and reporting relationships, CORU, CPD and fitness-to-practise.

Our audience will be made up of staff and managers in the health and social care professions, as well as senior representatives of health service employers, professional bodies, departmental officials, CORU, HIQA, voluntary sector organisations, patient groups, and other stakeholders.

IMPACT’s professional/vocational group committee members are being offered an early opportunity to register for this high profile conference.
