Non-acute pharmacy members urged to complete survey to support claim

Fórsa is encouraging pharmacist members working outside of an acute hospital setting to complete a short survey is to help inform the claim to extend the Pharmacy Career Structure to all other settings in the HSE and HSE funded organisations.

It is open to all members to complete who work in HSE and HSE funded employments and can be accessed here.

Fórsa national secretary Linda Kelly explained that she, alongside several pharmacy members, met at the Workplace Relations Commission on 15th November, to pursue this claim. The conciliation conference was adjourned with the Commission sharing the view of the employer that this matter will need to be discussed as part of Local Bargaining, an upcoming process under the Public Service Agreement.

“What also emerged at the conciliation conference is that the employer is not clear on the variety of roles that exist within Pharmacy outside of acute hospitals. Based on data previously provided by the HSE, we know that you and approximately 150 colleagues work in these areas providing a valuable service ranging from community hospitals and hospices, CHO services, mental health services and national/central services,” she said.

Linda urged pharmacist members working outside of an acute hospital setting to complete the survey to help support the claim.

“We’re asking you to complete this survey and tell us about your current role and your view on how it would map onto the new structure. The results will help support the submission of a detailed claim to the HSE setting out all those that we wish to see moved to the new career structure,” she explained.

This form will remain open for all Fórsa members to complete until Wednesday 11th December. A general meeting of all members will be organised on foot of the results, to go through the submission to the HSE in detail.

Fórsa members can access the survey here.
