Clerical and executive grade members in Fórsa’s civil service division have merged to form two new branches.

Following an emergency general meeting (EGM) members in the National Shared Services Office (NSSO) decided to separate from the DPER/Finance branches, forming a new branch with a newly elected committee.

The EGM also approved a new set of model rules to govern the operation of the branch.

Similarly executive and clerical grades in DPER, Finance and associated organisations have merged to form a new branch under similar arrangements to the NSSO, with model rules adopted and a committee elected at a recent AGM.

The head of Fórsa’s Civil Service Division, Derek Mullen, welcomed the developments and emphasised the important role of representatives who supported the process and helped build new committees.

Derek also commended the hard work of officials involved. “I would particularly like to thank Pat Ennis, Una Faulkner and Cliodhna McNamara for their hard work establishing this new structure,” he said.
