Fórsa has raised concerns with both the Catholic Primary School Management Association (CPSMA) and the Department of Education regarding a draft contract template for school secretaries, which has been posted on the CPSMA website.

The draft contract template does not fully reflect the terms of the new national pay agreement for School Secretaries. The agreement contains many provisions that are not accurately reflected within the new CPSMA proposed contract.

We have sent to the CPSMA a list of our concerns and requested that the contract template is withdrawn pending further engagement. There is a need for a revised School Secretary contract as a consequence of the new agreement, however, the development of a contract template by the CPSMA without consultation or negotiation with Forsa is not acceptable. Members will be kept informed of developments.
