Fórsa has secured clarification on the payment arrangements of overtime over the holiday period.

The National Shared Services Office (NSSO) recently confirmed the details following discussions with Fórsa, and set out the end of year and new year payroll deadlines in this document.

The NSSO said that the advanced deadlines at either side of Christmas, commencing with the payrolls due for payment on Thursday 24th November and Friday 25th November, are required to accommodate bank holidays over the festive period, payroll downtime, and the increased requirement for data input for the first pay day in 2023.

Fórsa official Seán Carabini explained that representations were made to employee services after concerns were raised at the Civil Service General Council regarding payment delays.

“We raised the issue of delays in the processing of overtime claims over the upcoming holiday period at General Council. Following on from this a representative from the Staff Panel sought engagement with the NSSO,” he said.

Seán confirmed that following discussions with the Department, a subcommittee will be established to review this matter going forward.
